Eastern Hellbender

The Eastern Hellbender Salamander is North America's largest salamander, growing up to over two feet long. It " breathes" by absorbing oxygen from the water through its skin. Because of this, it survives where there is cold, clear, swift-running water. Human impacts have diminished Hellbender habitat, resulting in decreased numbers in western Maryland and Pennsylvania streams. 


As strong supporters of clean, healthy waterways, we donate $1 from each Hellbender Cold Brew Keg sold to The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. This direct environmental contribution supports and aids in the research of the Hellbender Salamander and other native species of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
